let them eat cake!

Wedding cake is one of my favorite parts of the wedding, and in southern weddings you are often treated to two cakes - the wedding cake and the grooms cake (often chocolate or whimsical or both).

Mallory and Tommy's cakes came from La Louisiane Bakery in River Ridge. Instead of the traditional almond cake with crunchy butter cream icing, the cake was an almond cake with a lovely, soft mousse-like filling. It was so delicious and a little bit unexpected! I actually had a 1.5 pieces of the wedding cake and one piece of the chocolate grooms cake - I found it my duty as a family member and bridesmaid to try both. :)
